This is a pilgrim’s retrospective review of past life events and experiences, recounting his wanderings around the world in search of the answer to the riddle that drove him onward in pursuit of his true calling. Enlightenment comes in the form of love for another, for nature, and from the search for the eternal soul. The writer narrates a lifelong search to uncover the secret of finding meaning in life, which ultimately reveals, through his own actions, to be fruitless. He now realises, in his later years, that he will never find a physical object in this world that can solve the mystery. Enlightenment manifests in the form of love for others, an appreciation of nature, and a quest for the eternal soul within life, which the material world can never fully satisfy. It is his realisation of achieving this state of inner illumination that ultimately transforms his quest. It is his reckoning of achieving this state of being blessed with internal illumination that ultimately turns his quest.
